The Greyhound Gap show at Walsall Arboretum had been threatened with cancellation due to more than 50 travellers’ caravans arriving at the spot last week.

They left the arboretum yesterday, while a similarly large group arrived next to Aldridge Community Centre.

But organisers of the dog show have now confirmed it will be held at Cannock Chase instead. It will take place from 11am to 4.30pm on Sunday next to Cannock Chase visitor centre, which is accessed from Marquis Drive.

On social media Lisa Cartwright, manager at the charity, urged people to spread the word.

She said: “We now have a new venue for this Sunday’s Greyhound Gap Show and we need everyone to get sharing to let everyone know of the move as it’s such short notice.”
