Eccentric X Factor contender Wagner Carrilho has revealed he wants to do a version of the TimeWarp – complete with bongos – for this week’s “Halloween”-themed show.

Since he brought out the bongos during the first live show for a bizarre rendition of Love Shack, audiences have yet to see him take to the drums again – but if pals of the Brazilian-born Pensnett man are to be believed, this Saturday could see their return.

Meanwhile, thousands of Facebook fans have joined various groups rooting for the former PE teacher to win.

One page, called “Wagner to win X Factor” has racked up more than 4,000 fans.

Another with the name “X Factor Protest – Wagner to win” is encouraging a campaign similar to last year’s infamous Rage Against the Machine Christmas number one success.

The group’s founder, calling themselves “Alco Holic”, states: “With all the controversy this year – Gamu, finalists who are already in the music industry, people mucking up auditions and still getting through – we need to show Simon and co. who the judges really are – us.

“So I urge everyone – Vote Wagner!”

Members of the group encourage one another to register multiple votes, with one member, Paul Nick, asking up to 50 votes or more per person.

“Let’s all wipe that smile off Simon’s face and prove to him that Wagner can win the X Factor,” he said.

Other options Wagner is considering for Saturday are songs from the Phantom of the Opera or possibly Live and Let Die, which he would perform in a Bond-style tux, according to pals.

They say he might even consider doing a mix of two of the options, as he has chosen to do in the live shows so far.

If the surprise star makes it through this round, he will have won himself a place in the live tour – even if he doesn’t win the competition overall.

Ian Fleming, who is in regular contact with Wagner inside the X Factor house and has joined the X Factor protest group, today said: “We want people to embrace the madness one last time.”

Wagner, aged 54, sailed through Sunday night’s results show on the public vote, smashing the prediction of bookies who had placed him in the top two to go.

nice to see your ‘journos’ researching their facts properly and getting it totally wrong yet again!
Those are NOT Bongos…. they are CONGAS!!!
Kind of like saying an apple is a pear because it’s a fruit… or an Austin allegro is a Ferrari because it is a car……

I can’t believe this guy is even in the live shows! He can’t sing and is cringeworthy to watch!

As for getting him to number one to ‘show Simon Cowell’ – jeez guys, who do you think employs Wagner whilst he’s on the show and the tour and will make the most money from such an act? I can ssure you it won’t be Wagner, maybe Simon might even join the group! ;-)
