I've fallen foul of that particular Euro conundrum many times before – if you've ever been to Dublin you'll know exactly what I mean!

This week is another first for me when I head to Shanghai in China for the weekend. Anyone who knows me will be aware that I had some 'slight' Visa problems during my last visit to China. Dealing with Chinese customs is not how I like spending my weekends!

But thankfully I have my passport in hand complete with correct visa (fingers crossed!) although of course you're always going to be a little nervous, aren't you!?

Five-week months are always a beast in Clubland so you have to take your hat off to the promoters who tackle these tough times! Please show your support with your dancing feet to the events below.

Brand new to Piques in Cannock for a Friday night is Wired, that will bring you only the best in underground music. DJs include Deep Glitch, Sam Dex and Daniel Fellows.

The Back Once Again Crew resides at the Coach House in Solihull as they bring a close to their summer season of events. Expect house classics with a twist from DJs Ste Savage, Colin Dredd and Luke Eagle.

The Bell in Stourbridge are mixing up their Friday nights with live music as they present The Festivals Experience tonight. Think Red Hot Chillis, Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol and you'll be on the right track.

More celeb PAs are in store at Walkabout tonight as Rob Norbury of Hollyoaks fame will be meeting and greeting his "fans". He plays former footballer Riley in the Chester-set soap, just in case you weren't sure. . . .

Yolo stands for You Only Live Once and with their philosophy of make the most of it, there should be some fun and games at their fresher's launch tonight. With two rooms of music from urban to house from DJs Shox, Edd Cooke and Toby Paton mixed with some great drinks promos.

Fidget had an absolute stormer with the Friday Night Project recently and this is their aftermath tonight! Bringing the biggest of beats will be Dave Fogg, De Contrebande and Omey & Orme. Check them out at the Rainbow Garden in Digbeth.

Into Saturday and Gatecrasher Birmingham continue their 4th birthday celebrations by drafting in some of the biggest players in the dance industry. This week it's the turn of the technically outstanding Laidback Luke and Michael Woods. They'll be joined by residents Paul Kellie and Kris Shaw who never fail to steal the show!

Franck Roger is no stranger to producing the finest deep and soulful house grooves and sure it will delight many that he's back in the area this Saturday. Performing for Face alongside Tom Craven at the Rainbow Courtyard this one could well go off! Look out for the after party 02:31 into Sunday morning with DJs Marc Spence, Andy Bell and Tom Shorterz. More local Bassline Beats are in order at Monty's, Sedgely for Bassline Bonanza! Craigy Boy and Woz Dj will keep their faithful more than happy I'm sure!

Locals of Walsall and fans of drum 'n' bass should look no further than Reload at Modus Vivendi. DJs on the night include Alpha, Subdue and Statik.

Have a great wekend guys – see you on the other side! Stuart x
