Olympic fever has well and truly gripped the nation over the last fortnight, with Team GB surpassing all our expectations as they continue on their truly epic medal haul mission!

A huge sense of pride has swept the nation, and rightly so as the spectacle of the Olympics has raised everyone's spirits!

With that in mind – and even the sunshine showing its face – it's safe to say there will be plenty of people out to celebrate this weekend as the games draw to a close on Sunday.

Here's where it's happening in the Midlands.

In Wolverhampton, Whatever continues it's Friday night success at Gorgeous with a bass infused playlist from guests Benny Rich, Martin Crich, Danny Jones plus residents.

The Cuban Exchange has long been a place for a classic cocktail and a laid back vibe.

This continues tonight as long standing resident Adam Turner supplies a deep and soulful house soundtrack to ease you into the weekend.

If an urban sound is more your thing, a trip across to Cannock and Piques is a must.

They present their monthly event Poppin' with a White Party theme and DJ Keeko.

On to Saturday and Wolverhampton's ultra glam venue The Prince Albert presents its High Summer Mega Launch with selection of music across its bar, club and beautiful beach club-style terrace.

A group of new residents have joined the team which this week includes Ritchie Ward, David Howells, Matt Sherrington plus a back-to-back set from myself and Stuart Ojelay. This is looking like one not to miss!

At the Quadrant Lounge, local hip-hop hero Tricksta hosts Beats & Bars with a DJ set alongside DJ Late and performances from Supar Novar, Big Dutty Deeze, Tenny Ten, B-illa, Broken Dialect and Birthm4rk!

Into Birmingham, Nuvo continue their new Saturday night weekly, Envy!

James and Alex Hughes warm things up with some deep house delights, closely followed by DJ VIP and a mix mash of house to R n B.

The who's who of Birmingham will literally be taking to the skies this week as The Mile High Club launches in the Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar in the Cube.

Situated 25 stories high with 360 degree views of the city skyline, luxurious décor and a limited guestlist this looks like a truly special evening.

After that for most it will be a quick jump over to the official after party at If…@ Bushwackers.

New York City's finest Victor Simonelli headlines supported by Deep City Soul, Onefour, PK, Attison, Ade Chad, Dave Thatcher & Jaydee Thomas.

It's once again been a pleasure to take the club guide reigns this week for Stuart, he'll be back next week with more midland nightlife recommendations!

Have a great weekend,

Good things. . . James
