Stage is set for V Festival as 95,000 music fans expected

The massive main stage is set for the 2013 V Festival with up to 95,000 music fans expected to flock to Staffordshire for this weekend's event.

An army of workers have been drafted in to prepare Weston Park ready to welcome music acts including Kings of Leon, Stereophonics and superstar Beyonce. Contractors have been on site since August 5 setting up the stages and organisers today said the site was 'looking great'.

Many of those going to the event will be staying for the weekend and the campsite will open for the first influx of revellers at 9am tomorrow.

It was revealed earlier this week the festival is worth £6 million to the local economy with the huge influx of people spending money in the county.

But drivers have been warned to expect delays on roads around Weston Park as cars head to the festival site from Friday morning and leave again on Monday.

The A41 will be one way northbound between the M54 junction three for Albrighton and the Pickmere Roundabout near Shifnal from 7am to 7pm on Friday. The main road will also be one way southbound on Monday.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays between the Gailey Island and the Pickmere Island on the busy A5 and from junction three of the M54 to the A41.
