RAF Museum Cosford, on the Staffordshire/ Shropshire border, will open its doors on Monday, May 17.

The museum says members of the public will need to pre-book tickets in order to use the playground.

Photographs of the playground were shared by the museum on Twitter.

The design of the area features a model aeroplane where youngsters are able to climb inside, and access a slide from the front.

The RAF logo also features on the floor.

RAF Museum tweeted: "#RAFMuseumCosford's NEW Outdoor playground is ready for take-off! We are reopening our doors to visitors on Monday 17 May, with the addition of a brand-new family friendly outdoor interactive area. Pre-book tickets to test fly our RAF themed playground."
