Max Hooley will take to the roads and hills around his home in Wollaston, Stourbridge, as he aims to cycle 100 miles in eight weeks.

The eight-year-old, who goes to school at Amblecote Primary, was inspired to do the ride after being challenge by his school to do something 100 times in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

His mother Sarah said he had also decided to raise money for Wild Zoo at Halfpenny Green after hearing that the zoo was struggling for funds.

She said: “He seemed really worried about what would happen to all the animals if the zoo closed, so he decided to raise money for them as it’s one of his favourite places to go.”

Mrs Hooley said she and her husband Sam had been running alongside Max.
