The calf is a rare Rothschild's giraffe, currently listed as endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.

Fennessy became the third baby welcomed into the herd in six months, alongside Embu and Emali.

He was named after Dr Julian Fennessy and his family, who founded the charity Giraffe Conservation Foundation, which is carrying out work with the park.

Dr Fennessy previously said he and his family were 'elated' to have a baby giraffe named after them.
