Various arts and crafts activities will accompany the annual Easter family fun day.

Assistant curator at the Walsall museum, Francesca Cox, said: "We all really look forward to the Easter holidays as its one of our busiest times at the museum.

"As well as all of these special activities we've all been busy hiding eggs for our special egg hunt and writing a fun quiz for our younger visitors. It is so great seeing all the families having such a fun time at the museum – it makes it all worthwhile". The programme of events kicked off yesterday with Window Wonders as Rob Conway helped families make their own stained-glass effect sun catchers.

Ruth Turnbull was hosting a woven butterfly drop-in craft session today, which will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm, costing 50p per child.

On Easter Monday, the museum will once again swing its doors open for its annual fun day with entertainment coming from the likes of Wolly the Clown, Juggling Jim and Kris Katchitt.

Throughout the day there will also be puppet shows, face painting, and art and leather embossing activities. The free event will run from 10.30am to 4pm.

Next week will include the chance to create an owl with artist Ruth Radcliffe, as well as making and hatching dragon puppets with artist Jim Morris. An owl session also takes place on Wednesday as a drop-in but the puppet-making class must be pre-booked at a cost of £2 per child.
