Russell Brand to bring new tour to Birmingham and Wolverhampton

Controversial comedy king Russell Brand will be bring his brand new stand up show Re:Birth to Birmingham's Symphony Hall on December 5 and Wolverhampton's Civic Hall on November 1 2018.

Beginning his career as a stand-up comedian and later becoming an MTV presenter, Brand first achieved notoriety in 2004 as the host of Big Brother's Big Mouth and has since gone on to a career as a comedian, actor, radio host, author and activist.

Over the course of his career, Brand has been the subject of frequent media coverage and controversy for issues such as his promiscuity and drug use, his outrageous behaviour at various award ceremonies, his dismissal from MTV and resignation from the BBC, and his two-year marriage with singer Katy Perry.

He has since used these controversies as the subject of his comedy writing and in 2009 became involved in political activism after condemning Israel's assualt on Gaza.
