A hard-rockin' Christmas is in store for lucky Ticket readers who can look forward to a year of brilliant metal gigs by scooping £800-plus worth of tickets.

Three-day camping tickets to Download and gigs by Avenged Sevenfold, Meshuggah, A Day To Remember, Suicide Silence and Idles are up for grabs in a fantastic one-off competition. Six winners will share the tickets – with the first prize scooping the Download tickets and five runners-up taking tickets for other shows.

Next year's Download will take place at Donnington Park, near Derby, from June 9 to 11 and features System of a Down, Aerosmith, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Prophets of Rage, Five Finger Death Punch, A.F.I., Of Mice & Men, Sleeping with Sirens and more.

The festival will also feature Sum 41, Slayer, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and Alter Bridge. Tickets normally cost more than £200 each, but we've got one pair for one lucky reader.

The runners-up can look forward to a swathe of tickets for gigs throughout spring. They'll get two tickets to see Avenged Sevenfold on January 13 at Birmingham's Genting Arena; Meshuggah on the same date at Birmingham's O2 Institute; A Day To Remember on January 25 at Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena; Idles on March 14 at Birmingham's The Hare And Hounds or Suicide Silence on March 22 at Birmingham's O2 Academy 2.

Avenged Sevenfold formed in California and have released seven studio albums, one live album/DVD, two compilation albums and 18 singles and have sold more than eight million albums worldwide. Meshuggah are a Swedish extreme metal band who formed in 1987 and have enjoyed global success, including nominations for Swedish Grammy Awards.

A Day To Remember hail from Forida and their metalcore-pop/punk has earned them fans around the world.

Idles are a fast-rising British band who hail from Bristol, while

American deathcore quintet Suicide Silence formed in 2002 and have had four hit albums.
