Midland clubbing guide

We're nearly done with 2016, only three more weekends left this year so let's see what this one has for you.

Published

Wolverhampton is our first stop and it's the first birthday of Headfixx, the local drum and bass brand will be taking over the Fixxion Warehouse and have got jungle king Aries, as well as Manchester legend Sappo who's been in the game since the early 90s.

Amusement 13 in Birmingham next and it's another home grown brand, this time FZKS. They're throwing their Christmas party, the FZKS Winter Special and have got DJ Champion down to unleash some monstrously gully sounds, as well as local talent including Circular Jaw, Hayden Perry, Skant & Natty D.

The Dark Horse down in Moseley has got the ASBO Disco in the house. Rodney P & Skitz have got the hip-hop covered. Aries will be there too alongside MC Gardna while Fat Stash has got the dub and reggae locked off.

Finally for Friday, the Hare & Hounds plays host to Moodfix who present Athlete Whippet.

A combination of Bunki & Ballerino, the pair are using the new alias to drive a new sound of low-tempo synth driven music that's still aimed firmly at the dancefloor. Support from Opyn and Travis & Tucker rounds this evening off.

Saturday then and if we pop over to Rainbow we find something colourful, soulful and strange with none other than Purple Disco Machine. Brought to town by Vice is Nice, you can expect this disco monster to deliver you into a Christmas paradise alongside Tommy Vercetti, Medusa & YZ, John Patrick and more.

Over in Redditch there's another Christmas party with Musik Hertz delivering the goods. With DJ Escape at the controls expect a load of jungle and drum and bass with a nice bit of twisted jump up in there for good measure. The lineup is as yet unannounced but with their past track record you'll be safe if you just get down to The Queens Head. They don't often disappoint.

VOID as usual have a Saturday night full of underground house and techno.

Finally, The Hare & Hounds have none other than DJ Format in house for the Freestyle Xmas Party. Soul, funk and hip-hop all get thrown into a melting pot with this guy.
