Cineworld Birmingham reaps rewards after launching 4DX cinema

Since the launch of 4DX at Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street in October, the introduction of the revolutionary cinematic experience has been a huge success for the cinema, resulting in a strong increase in sales.

With over 773 effects per film, the Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street has coordinated over 100,000 4DX effects for local cinema-goers since its opening on October 21.

On average, audiences have experiences 400 seat movements, 240 air effects, 81 back tickles, 39 rain storms dropped and 13 scents smelt per film.

Paul Millington, General Manager at Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street, comments: "Just under 7,000 people have come through our doors to experience 4DX at Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street.

"Having shown 131 4DX screenings to date, we have been absolutely thrilled with the response.

"We've shown both Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 4DX, and the next film will be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It's set to be a smash!"

Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street is home to the only 4DX auditorium in the Midlands, and it houses 156 specially designed seats which move in sync with the movie, plus a curved screen measuring 12.9 metres by 7.1 metres, which is taller than a double decker bus.

Introduced from South Korea, the Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street 4DX auditorium stimulates all five senses through high-tech motion seats and special effects such as wind, fog, rainstorm, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents.
