Michelle Sciarrotta, who performs under the name Fall Girl, will release debut album Arcana on digital platforms including iTunes, Spotify and Amazon on December 13.

She says the 11-track album, which was recorded, written and produced in her home studio, gave her a chance to experiment with different styles.

It acts as an expansion to her stripped back live sets, with the songs she performs in front of audiences using just her voice and acoustic guitar fleshed out with keyboards, drums and more.

Arcana takes the form of a diary, written over the course of 2015-16 and revisits themes of reflection and everyday inner thoughts.

Michelle, originally from Coventry, said: "This has been the first major project I have put together on my own, which is something I have quite enjoyed.

"It is daunting, because there are times when you miss working with other people when you are mixing a record, bouncing ideas off each other and improving the work that way.

"But what you get is the clearest representation of the sound you want in your head, it is less of a committee thing.

"I hope people enjoy the album and get to learn the songs through this more expansive sound.

"At my live shows I perform them stripped back so for me it is exciting to have the contrast."

Michelle is a classically trained musician who makes her living from performing, not only as Fall Girl, but under her own name for covers evenings and functions, as well as working with other musicians in her circle.

She says she feels 'blessed' to be living in the West Midlands as it gives her access to 'so many great venues and artists'.

She said: "My main source of income comes from playing these covers evenings, which is great fun and brilliant practice.

"Fall Girl is a project I am very proud of because I can get across who I am as an artist, I love all sorts of music from pop to 60s rock.

"I also work with Blaze Bayley, playing guitar for him and helping write new material.

"I get out there and play as much as I can and I feel like I am blessed being here in the West Midlands, where there are so many different, high quality venues just down the motorway."

A launch event for physical copies of Arcana was recently held at record shop Vinyl & Vintage, located on Cleveland Street in Wolverhampton.

The store sponsored her and have copies of the album for sale as part of its commitment to introducing local music lovers to new artists.

On top of this, Michelle will play her final show of the year as Fall Girl on December 27 at The Jam House in Birmingham.

She said: "The launch at Vinyl and Vintage was great, it really went down well with those who attended and helped spread the word.

"My show at The Jam House will be another great night, it will feel so good to have the album out there properly and be able to introduce people to what I have been working on.

"The crowd in there are always music lovers and keen to hear original material so it is perfect for me."
