Donovan, best known for his 1989 smash-hit Too Many Broken Hearts, will give music fans a chance to turn back the clock and enjoy the sounds of the 80s again at the StepBack gig.

Donovan found fame as an actor in Australian drama Neighbours in the early 80s, developing an iconic on-screen romance with Kylie Minogue.

The show will also feature the likes of Tony Hadley, T'Pau, Nik Kershaw, Kim Wilde, Jason Donovan, Cutting Crew, Go West and other stars of the 80s.

StepBack will be compered by Smooth FM's Nigel Freshman and the venue believes adding Jason Donovan and Cutting Crew to the bill will only further increase anticipation for the event.

Andy Gibb, managing director at the Ricoh Arena, said: "Jason Donovan and the Cutting Crew add to an already talent-stacked bill which will perform in front of a packed out venue and create a true party atmosphere as fans re-live the 80s.

"This is the first time we have staged this sort of 80s event and we are really looking forward to welcoming so many of the iconic names of that brilliant decade for music to the Ericsson Indoor Arena.

"Ticket sales have been fantastic so far so it should be a fantastic night for everyone involved."

StepBack is being promoted by Coventry-based Showtime Promotions.

Dan Nelmes, director of Showtime said: "It's brilliant to be able to attract star names such as Jason Donovan and Cutting Crew to StepBack and they will only make this event even better!

"The crowd at the Ricoh Arena will experience a true 80s throwback party and we're delighted to bring a real mixture of top stars to our home city as part of StepBack."
