Popular stand-up comedian Carl Hutchinson will be showcasing his famous Geordie wit on December 2.

Carl will be squaring off against 'life's petty annoyances'– from people who post motivational quotes on social media to those who urge you to put your phone in rice when you get it wet – in his latest show The Fixer. The show starts at 8pm.

Comedian, broadcaster/podcaster Matt Forde will be bringing his satirical humour to the MET on December 8 with his new show It's My Political Party (And I'll Cry If I Want To).

Matt celebrates 'why it's great/awful that we're in/out of the EU/UK/NATO/whatever the hell happens next'. The show starts at 8pm.

Back by popular demand, the Urban Folk Quartet return to the MET on December 9

Back by popular demand, The Urban Folk Quartet return to the MET on December 9.

The show features 'Stafford lad/world-renowned banjo player' Dan Walsh with Joe Broughton, Paloma Trigás, and Tom Chapman.

Since forming in 2009, the band's approach to folk music has captivated audiences across the world. Their music style is 'from funk grooves to middle-eastern melodies, Afrobeat to north Indian rhythms'.

The performance will include new material following the success of last year's critically-acclaimed album 'Escape'. The performance starts at 8pm.

Leading music ensemble Piva return to the MET for 'a musical celebration of the winter season' on December 16.

The band will be playing 16th century music combined with winter tales – transporting audiences back to a Tudor Christmas. Piva will be joined by guest musician David Jarratt-Knock.

Early booking is advised as Piva's last two Christmas shows at the MET were sell outs. The show starts at 7.30pm. And for younger audiences, The People's Theatre Company return with a 'fantastic, festive, fun-filled family show' called Santa In Love.

Santa and his team of elves will lead 'games, giggles and favourite Christmas songs' from December 22-24. Santa will be available after the show to meet children and give them a present, so parents are invited to take a camera.

The show takes place at 10.30am and 1pm on December 22; 11.30am and 3pm on December 23 and 24. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
