Antony Christou's weekend guide

The weekend is rising up like a corpse to bring a blitz of events of all types including a horde of Halloween themed horrors to dance away to.

First to rear its ugly head is The Night of The Living Dub' at The Hare and Hounds. From the same crew that bring you Drumbounce and Drumstretch Fitness they've got a host of Drum & Bass DJs to keep you entertained all night including Mark Smallman, Stefan Smith, Daniel Kuda Smith and guest Posh Pete of Positive Vibration Birmingham. Creepy fancy dress is recommended.

Elsewhere we find some more drum and bass antics at PST where local jungle icon Aries throws the launch party for his brand new album. He's teamed up with local artist agency Payback Promotions and they've brought together Aries, Stivs, Kelvin373 and Selecta J-Man for a night rammed with breakbeats and wibbly-wobbly bass lines.

For those searching for a true fancy dress extravaganza for the weekend Ouse is the event for you. They return to Boxxed for another collaboration between the OUSE and Fables teams. This time the setting is post-apocalyptic. Think Mad Max or Fallout, expect savage raiders, bizarre mutants and the human survivors struggling to survive amongst it all.

The final stand out event for the night is at The Tunnel Club, which unleashes a legendary rave with 'House of God'. The 23-year-old event brings three rooms of madness for Hallows Eve with the main room packed with top notch techno from Karen, Jerome Hill and the House of God residents. Room two is an explosive mix of jungle, drum & bass, hardcore, bass and old skool while room three is disco and classic house territory.

Saturday brings a fresh round of raveyard antics for you to sink your fangs into and the biggest is Rainbow's annual The Haunting. Spanning a massive five rooms you can expect world class DJs, thousands of terrifying fancy dress clad creatures, acrobats and circus performers. Headliners include Wilkinson, DJ Target, Lee Walker and Applebum.

Starworks in Wolverhampton takes a bass-led approach to the night's antics for the 'Glas' Halloween Warehouse of Horrors. They have got Chris Lorenzo and Low Steppa leading the charge for a monstrous night of house, garage and tech alongside Tommy Vercetti, Pete Graham, Kiddo and Brandon Ross.

Digbeth holds another Halloween horror with Shanty Town, which has an eclectic mix of live bands and wicked DJs including house bands Culture Dub Orchestra and BEARmusic and selectors Unspeakable Deviance, Goosensei and Elki.

Regression Sessions also return to Birmingham at The Rainbow Venues.
