This hotel has been listed as the top B&B in Shropshire on TripAdvisor and was awarded the site's 2015 Traveller's Choice Award.

Willington Lodge is a Georgian manor house which has been carefully restored in keeping with the building's heritage and to this day remains a family home. The rooms are described as 'luxurious' and 'stunning' by guests who have stayed there and an Aga-cooked breakfast is also on offer.

Children and dogs are welcome.

Those who do not wish to stay at the B&B, meanwhile, have the option of camping at Lady Willington Camping and Caravan Park, which is open throughout the year.

Rowton Castle - Halfway House, Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Listed as the number one hotel in Shropshire by TripAdvisor and a winner of the site's Certificate of Excellence, Rownton Castle is a 17th century grade-listed building set in 17 acres of sprawling grounds.

The hotel is also an award-winning wedding venue and boasts a restaurant, complete with oak panelling carved in the 17th century.

The castle has 19 individually designed en-suite bedrooms, seven with period four-poster beds.
