First on the agenda, there's a big one at The Rainbow.

Seedy Sonics present Human Safari, a jungle themed musical excursion with a range of wild locations including; the towering Tree Tops, the heart of the plains The Watering Hole or the wild expanse that is The Savannah. Expect fancy dress, wild entertainment and headline sets from Artwork, Jasper James and the Seedy residents. Tickets are down to the last few, so act quickly if you want to get in touch with your wild side.

Move down the road to The Night Owl and you'll find The Northern Soul all-nighter taking centre stage, the music policy ranges from Soul and Motown to 60s RnB & Ska and the selectors for the evening will be Chris King & Mick Taylor. 8 hours of solid music means there's plenty to keep you grooving all night long.

Wolverhampton has also got something to tickle your fancy if you like Soul, Juke will be running all night at the Newhampton Inn with a tight selection of 60s, 70s, 80s, Rock & Roll and Soul courtesy of resident DJ Shaun.

Saturday is where it's all happening this weekend though. Oxjam hits Birmingham and covers a range of venues including; The Sunflower Lounge, The Victoria, Cherry Reds, Slug & lettuce, Brew Dog, Penny Blacks, The Actress and Bishop and The Velvet Music Rooms. There's a huge range of music from the local scene covering every genre imaginable, from folk to reggae, from pop to heavy metal and all proceeds go directly towards Oxfam's humanitarian, development and campaigning work. What's not like?

Elsewhere Drum & Bass makes a big impact with genre royalty touching down at The Hare & Hounds as Metalheadz take over. They've brought Lenzman, Dom & Roland and Doc Scott to kick things off alongside the hosting talents of MC Conrad. Elsewhere Birmingham stalwarts Shadow Demon Coalition presents MC Triggas Birthday Bash, there's a massive lineup that's too long to list here but if you know the name Trigga, you know what to expect, a massive night held at the vast venue that is the 02 Birmingham.

Lab 11 takes things in a different direction, they've also got drum and bass royalty in the form of Fabio & Grooverider but they're going back to their roots with a 2 hour Acid House set with support from Tomola, Billy Bayliss, Neiyarr and Amo, plus an as yet unannounced special guest.

Finally the weekend gets rounded off in cabaret style with Dirty Circus at Boxxed, featuring an eclectic mix of electro swing, garage, ghetto funk and just a little dash of drum and bass. There's C@ in the H@, The Electric Swing Circus, Artful Dodger, and much more. Expect stilt walkers, face paint, corsets, fire breathers and vintage cabaret sounds with a dirty twist!

Plenty to go at then, get yourselves out there, soak it up and see me next week for some more recommendations.
