Will Staffordshire singer George shine on the X Factor?
A Hednesford singer will be looking to make himself a star in front of millions when he sings on the X Factor this weekend.
George Windsor, of Rosehill, will sit down at home with dad Pete, brother Mark, aunt Gwen and Graham and a select group of friends to watch his appearance on Sunday.
The former West Hill Primary School and Blake Technology College pupil travelled to New York last year to record with producer Joe Vulpis.
He said: "I was there last year, spent a lot of time there doing a three track EP. That helped with the X Factor I think.
"I'm a bit ghetto, in the hood. I love Freddie Mercury; David Bowie is a massive inspiration."
His audition to be shown on TV was recorded at London Olympia – but George, 21, has been sworn to secrecy about any progress he might make on the show.
He told the Express & Star: "I wanted to give it a shot. I wanted to see whether they liked what they saw. It was great; if you don't get nervous there's something wrong.
"I didn't say a lot before the performance but I had my ab fab team with me. I was here, there and everywhere myself."
Asked to describe himself, he said: "I am very dramatic. Outfits wise, very Gaga.
"I love Lady Gaga, I'm not going to lie. I love Pia Mia, she's released some really cool tracks.
"My look is very different. It is not your typical short back and sides, wearing the chinos. From a very young age I have always wanted to look my best."
He added: "I was always known to perform at Woody's Music Bar in Hednesford. I have done variety shows, they wanted George Windsor, local singer."
On future ambitions, he said: "I would love to tour the world, release an album. Obviously I want to release my own products in the future. I just want to keep moving forward."
The care assistant has worked at the Alma Court Nursing Home in Heath Hayes for a year and he said he had been backed by colleagues.
"They have been so supportive. They have been sending me messages. It's been fantastic, they're amazing," he said.
The show, with judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger, will be shown on ITV1 from 8pm tomorrow.
