The songstress tweeted a clip of her doing the challenge after being nominated by fellow singers Joss Stone and Sean Escoffery.

The challenge sees those taking part completing 22 push-ups per day, every day, for 22 days.

She has set up a JustGiving page to receive donations for the Combat Stress charity, which offers specialist clinical treatment to UK veterans with psychological injuries.

On the page, Beverley explains the cause is close to her heart after he husband's cousin came back from Afghanistan without three limbs due to an explosion.

"Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page," says the page.

"Through my hubby's cousin Jack, who came back from Afghanistan without three limbs due to a bomb, I met many others who also suffer injuries on the inside. I am fit, strong and well. I am safe.

"22 push ups over 22 days is the least I can do to help raise funds for those who literally put their lives on the line for us all."
