The band, who are known for hits such as This Ain't a Love Song and She's So Lovely, are backing the Run for Joel charity race due to take part at Sandwell Valley Country Park on September 11.

The Smile for Joel charity was set up in memory of the tragic death of 19-year-old Joel Richards, his uncle, Adrian Evans, and grandfather, Patrick Evans, following the Tunisia beach massacre on June 26 2015.

Joel's mother Suzy Richards and her surviving son Owen, 17, set it up to support others who have lost family members in a similarly harrowing manner.

Scouting for Girls, who consist of Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard recorded the short video message in-between of their summer festival tour schedule.

Lead vocalist from the band, Stride, said: "We want to wish a massive good luck to everybody taking part in the Run for Joel at the Sandwell Valley Country Park on September 11 in association with Victim Support."

The lads flash their Smile for Joel wristbands at the camera before saying in unison: "So remember – Smile for Joel!"

Posted on the @Smileforjoel1 Twitter account yesterday morning, it gained numerous likes and retweets.

Scouting for Girls have more than 80,000 followers on Twitter page. The Run for Joel event will consist of a 5k Run and more relaxed 3k Fun Run.
