The Old Square Shopping Centre in Walsall town centre held the free superhero fun day for families to head along and enjoy.

And the Batmobile from the 1989 film, which starred Michael Keating, was the star attraction. The Dark Knight was in attendance to fight crime, while posing for pictures and selfies with fans who flocked to the event.

Linda Brawn, manager of Old Square Shopping Centre, said: "Our superhero event was popular with shoppers young and old. It was fantastic to have such an iconic car in Old Square and the crowds really enjoyed it."

But it wasn't just the Caped Crusader who turned up but his superhero pals Spiderman, Optimus Prime and Iron Man were also patrolling the streets.

The comic book heroes did walkabouts throughout the day to meet fans who turned up in their hundreds.

Young superheroes including brothers Tyler and Steven Humphries, from Blakenall, were kitted out head to toe in Batman fancy dress to pose with their hero. The event took place on Tuesday.
