International visitors to see Wolverhampton's award-winning garden

An award-winning garden hidden just outside Wolverhampton city centre is to welcome international visitors through its doors.

The so-called 'Garden of Surprises' that won the Daily Mail's National Garden Competition last year, will welcome a group of Japanese garden design students, who are visiting the UK to learn about the English style of gardening.

Owners Brian and Anne Bailey have been opening their garden as part of the National Garden Scheme for the last five years, to raise money for the scheme's charities, which include Macmillan and Marie Curie Nurses and Hospice UK.

The Japanese students' visit will be the curtain raiser for this year's season of openings, which includes three public open days on June 5 and 7 and July 3, as well as several other group visits.
