Smoke and nosie filled the air as last night as skilled craftsmen and costumed demonstrators recreated the industrial might of the Black Country at the Dudley site.

A full-scale replica of the world's first successful steam engine, the Newcomen, was fired up and there were theatre and light shows throughout the evening, while poetry, music and stories brought to life the history of the region.
