Robyn Maiden, aged 22, of Fitzmaurice Road, Ashmore Park, Wednesfield, is hoping to wow the judges at the Miss Black Country finals on May 22. The warehouse worker, employed by Davenport Burgess, Willenhall, was signed by Elite Model Management in London for six months from July 2015.

She said: "What I really like is that it's glamorous but helping disadvantaged children at the same time. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to get into modelling, but with this competition I get the best of both worlds – helping people as well as modelling."

The competition, whose final takes place at Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill, Dudley.
