Justin Bieber in Birmingham: Why are Beliebers demanding he cancels his Purpose world tour?
Outraged Justin Bieber fans have taken to Twitter to argue over whether the singer's Purpose world tour should be cancelled.
His fans, known as Beliebers, expressed their anger on the social media platform after the Canadian singer announced he was cancelling VIP Meet and Greet experiences.The Canadian pop star is set to play the Barclaycard Arena on October 17 and 18.
The 22-year-old, who is currently touring the United States, posted on his Instagram account earlier in the week saying that, while he enjoyed "meeting such incredible people", the events left him feeling "drained and unhappy".
He explained: "Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression…"
"The pressure of meeting people's expectations of what I'm supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders."
Online platform Bkstg, through which fans purchase their VIP experiences, said a security incident was behind the change.
In a section explaining changes to the VIP packages, it said: "Part of why the meet and greet is no longer a part of the I'll Show You #Purpose Experience had to do with an incident that occurred in a group setting."
The hashtag #CancelPurposeTour trended worldwide while fans argued as to whether the tour should go ahead or not.

The singer has not yet responded to his fans or commented on reports that a security incident led to the cancellation of the VIP Meet and Greets.
Justin kicked off the tour less than three weeks ago and has just finished a run of shows at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
The blockbuster tour is scheduled to run until November, when Justin will finish with two performances at the O2 Arena in London.
The pop star appeared to have no plans to cancel his tour, promising fans "the best show you have ever seen".
Bkstg posted a message online telling customers: "Starting Friday, the 'I'll Show You' VIP package has changed. This was not in our control and we hear your anger and see your tears.
"We are working with all parties to still make this as amazing of an experience as we can."
The limited VIP packages grant fans time backstage with the pop star to mingle and take photos. They will now reportedly be modified to allow fans to take photos and videos of Justin in the hospitality area – but there will be no group photos.
The Sorry singer told his 62.7 million Instagram followers that meet and greets drain him when he becomes filled with others' "spiritual energy".
He explained: "Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my albums as promised. Can't tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn't so hard on me.
"And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I'm in to give you the best show you have ever seen."
