The 105-strong choir based in Wolverhampton city centre will have a variety of outings in the coming days including the Candlelight service on Sunday.

Last night the choir, the biggest in the country, sang on the Molineux turf prior to the Wolves versus Leeds match.

Peter Morris, who has been the director of music at the church for over 10 years, said the festive period was exciting for his choir. He said: "The choristers are so busy at this time of year but we hope the lovely sounds they make will convey the spirit of a traditional Christmas.

"We sing a mixture of traditional hymns and carols and new ones.

"The earliest ones we sing probably date back to around the 15th century, while the most recent are from the last few years."

This Sunday's Candlelight service at 6.30pm is the big one for the choir.
