“I want to raise this much” – Beth speaks to the Express & Star about her new single

Releasing her Christmas charity single – Snow Angels – this week, the 24-year-old from Lower Gornal aims to raise as much money as possible for Make A Wish Foundation, calling it a great cause to support and be involved with.

The singer has previously visited a number of schools across the UK to talk about the issue of cyber bullying and tries to do as much charity work as possible. She said: "I'm just very grateful to be in the position I'm in now that I can try and make a difference. Even if it's only to one child, I feel like I've done something.

"To be able to send a message through my music is an incredible feeling.

"I'm lucky enough be involved with charities and the Make A Wish Foundation really is something I feel very passionate about. To do something for these terminally ill children really does mean a lot to me," singer Beth added.

Back in 2012, Beth was working in Debenhams Merry Hillwhen she was overheard singing by a top music producer who happened to be walking past while buying his wife a Christmas present.

She was left shocked when the music mogul behind Busted, Girls Aloud and Take That approached her, saying she had a great voice.

She has since signed a £250,000 record deal with Purple Circle Records and last year toured with The Saturdays and has released a single, Joker, with rapper Lil' Wayne. Before all this however, Beth had been singing in public for many years, performing at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre with Matthew Kelly and George Costigan in Don Quixote when she was 14. She also performed in a gospel choir with Katherine Jenkins at The Royal Albert Hall.

The 24-year-old made national headlines with her remarkable rise, but even when she had been spotted, she refused to leave her post at the perfume counter until after Christmas. She added: "It's so bizarre this all started in my workplace. It was just a normal day and that's what's so amazing."

You can buy the single for 79p on iTunes with all proceeds going to Make A Wish Foundation.
