Organisers say that more than 100 stalls are expected to be set up in the town centre.

The festivities will start at 2pm and a reindeer will arrive at 3pm followed by a parade with the Children's Nativity Group and Father Christmas at 5.15pm.

Town lights will be officially switched on by the Mayor of Bewdley councillor Calne Edginton-White who will be helped by the carnival princesses and Father Christmas at 5.30pm.

Ann Lyman, spokesman for the Christmas Lights Festival committee, said: "There will be stalls on Severn Side North, Severn Side South and Load Street which will be selling a wide variety of items and this, together with the Bewdley shops, many of whose windows will be specially decorated, will give everyone the ideal opportunity for Christmas shopping."
