The hit maker will play a sell out gig at Birmingham's O2 on Sunday and fans can look forward to songs from her debut album, I Cry When I Laugh.

It took Glynne a long time to find her sound.

She said: "One of the best pieces of advice I got given when I was going to do music for myself was go away and write a hundred songs minimum. I was like, write a hundred songs? That's kind of crazy'.

"But I got to a point when I wrote one song two years later, and I was like, 'OK, this where I want to go'. That song was called 'Home'."

I Cry When I Laugh features a range of emotions.

Glynne was obsessed with great soul stars from an early age: "I was just obsessed with soul singers who had these big powerful voices. I used to listen to Aretha, Whitney, Mariah and try and imitate them, note for note and riff for riff."

The singer has found it difficult to come to terms with her success: "I still get overwhelmed by it. I don't see myself as a famous person. It's really strange. I do find it quite uncomfortable, people staring at me while I'm having a drink with my mate."

The show is sold out.
