Talent scouts for the hugely popular reality show will be holding court at the city's vast International Convention Centre.

And they'll be looking for fresh talent to follow up on stars from across the region who have hit the big time after proving a hit with viewers to the popular show.

From ballroom dancing Stourbridge grandmother Paddy Jones to Connie Talbot, the Streetly six-year-old with the voice of an angel, the West Midlands has provided some of the most entertaining talent seen on the show over the last nine years.

With her sparkly jacket and exuberant playing, organist Jean Martyn from Brewood was an instant hit with the judges in 2011 and, despite finishing 10th,says the experience gave her career a huge boost.

Dancers and singers are staples of Britain's Got Talent, but the West Midlands has produced the only saxophonist to make the grade – Halesowen's Julian Smith.

Executive producer of Britain's Got Talent, Amelia Brown, is looking forward to returning to the city. She said "Birmingham has given us some great talent in the past including the father and son singing group The Neales, who were in the final of this year's Britain's Got Talent. We are looking for talents of all varieties."
