Music and magic in Wolverhampton Grand line-up

Des O'Connor, Derren Brown and West End musical Annie are among the diverse range of shows in Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre's new season.

On January 18, controversial comedian Jim Davidson will take to the stage with his new show Charlton Nil.

A celebration of the Chinese New Year and an audience with Stewart Lee, A Room With A Stew, are other highlights.

And An Audience with Des O'Connor celebrates the showbusiness veteran in a new show looking back on his stage and screen career on April 23. The Billy Fury Years traces the career of the rock 'n' roll pioneer on February 21, with the hip hop dance company presenting their new production, Into The Hoods: Remixed on February 25 to 27.

John Steinbeck classic Of Mice And Men, Fame– The Musical, The Snow Maiden, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Hello Kitty Live, Ireland's Call and A Grand Operetta Gala are all being staged in May.

The Black Country Night Out on April 1 features Jonny Cole, Dandy, The Fizzogs and The Ronaldos. And Birds of a Feather star Lesley Joseph leads the cast in Annie from April 4 to 9, in a role she is sharing in the show's tour with Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood.

In his seventh live show since 2003, Derren Brown: Mircale, sees the multi-award winning acknowledged master of psychological illusion returns to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from April 11 to 16.

With a dazzling array of outrageous Olivier and Tony award-winning costumes, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert returns from May 2 to May 7.

Billy Ocean, the biggest black recording star Britain has ever produced, with more than 30 million records sold, will perform on May 13. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will star Joe McElderry from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 May, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Pinnocchio is brought to life on June 1, followed up and back by popular demand Russell Watson with Songs From The Heart on June 4.

The Northern Ballet presents Jane Eyre and a show called The Tortoise & The Hare on June 10 and June 11 respectively.
