The one-day free event takes place at the Archives and Local History Centre on the Tipton Road in Dudley on October 3 from 10am to 4pm.

The Local History Day will feature a number of family and local history society exhibitions and visitors can find out about fascinating life stories, view amazing photographs, ask about ancestry research advice and take part in behind the scenes tours. There will also be family activities and quizzes, a raffle and a free prize draw.

Councillor Rachel Harris said: "Dudley has a fascinating history. There's lots on offer during the history day and we are also encouraging people to bring along old photographs to be copied and added to the archives collection."
