Plant is leading the likes of Jasper Carrott and ELO frontman Bev Bevan in getting snapped with a copy of JB's: The Story of Dudley's Legendary Live Music Venue, which was released in December.

The book's author, Geoff Tristram, who performed at the club himself in the 70s, said the rock god was more than happy to be photographed with the glossy paperback .

Mr Tristram said:

"I don't know how he managed to do it but it looks like his face is glowing. When I saw it for the first time I joked that his face had lit up when he saw how good the book was."

Mr Tristram said he hopes anybody who buys the book will also take a picture of themselves.

We want it to be one of these 'pour iced water over your head' sort of things,'" he said. "The book has been sold all across the world as well as locally."

The picture was released as Plant's recently-announced summer gig at Cannock Chase was set to sell out in hours after tickets went on sale yesterday.

The ex-Led Zeppelin frontman, who lives near Kidderminster, has signed up for the Forest Live concerts. He plays his gig on July 11.
