Four of comedy's best known acts will descend on the West Midlands for a series of headline gigs. Julian Clary and Jimmy Carr will line up at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall while Lee Nelson and Gary Delaney will perform at venues in Birmingham.

Julian Clary will headline the Civic Hall tonight in his new show, Position Vacant: Apply Within.

Fans can look forward to a night of camp comedy that will climax with the national treasure and winner of Celebrity Big Brother marrying a member of the audience live on stage. The ceremony will involves confetti, a member of the clergy and bridesmaids.

Position Vacant: Apply Within has proved to be one of Clary's most successful shows in more than 30 years. It toured to sold-out houses throughout the country in the autumn of 2012 and has returned by public demand for its present spring tour.

Clary said: "Once again there's bound to be stiff competition for my hand. That's why I'll be hosting ruthless elimination games. But you can be sure of one thing. By the end of the evening, we'll all be celebrating my new partnership."

At the age of 53, Clary remains one of the UK's busiest writers and performers on stage and screen. In 2012 he guested on such TV favourites as Would I Lie to You?, QI and Live at the Apollo.

He remains a regular panellist on radio's Just a Minute and stars each Christmas in one of the country's biggest pantos. For the 2012-13 season he headlines with Nigel Havers and Lee Mead in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton.

He's also a best-selling novelist. His third book, Briefs Encountered, was published last March to unanimous praise.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Carr will also headline the Civic tomorrow with the second date of his Gagging Order show.

Fans can expect a brand new show with brand new jokes from the same old Jimmy. Carr has sold more than a million DVDs & hosted countless TV shows but live comedy is what he does best.

Lee Nelson, star of Live at the Apollo and two series of the smash-hit comedy Lee Nelson's Well Good Show, will headline Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre tonight.

Gary Delaney, the award-winning master of the one-liner, will bring his solo show to Birmingham's Glee Club tonight. Fans can expect more jokes than they'll know what do with from the Mock The Week star.

Tickets are available from the venues.
