Reginald D Hunter, Omid Djalili, Richard Digance, Mrs Nice and Andrew Lawrence will be among the stars in local venues.

Controversial comic Hunter, who caused a stir when he performed for the Professional Footballers Association, will star at the New Alexandra Theatre, in Birmingham, on Wednesday.

He will perform in In The Midst Of Crackers and his show follows two previous sell-out tours of the UK and the release of his debut stand up DVD, Reginald D Hunter Live.

The New Alexandra will also feature Omid Djalili on Thursday. Ms James said: "Omid is back (with a splash).

"A firm favourite at the Edinburgh Festival with his legendary performances, Omid's stand-up awards include; Time Out Award – for Best Stand Up, the EMMA Award and was a South Bank Award nominee as well as being a Perrier Award nominee."

Meanwhile, performer-poet-author-and-artist Richard Digance will line up at Stafford's Gatehouse Theatre tomorrow. He has been described as being a one-man creative industry, whose achievements are acknowledged around the world and his 2013 UK tour will bring more hysterical nostalgia and a wealth of new songs and anecdotes.

The Gatehouse will also welcome Mrs Nice on Thursday at The MET Studio. Mrs Barbara Nice will invite her audience to forget their troubles, be happy and join here in celebrating the here and now.

Birmingham's Glee Club will also welcome top flight performances with Andrew Lawrence starring on Friday 24th may.
