TV personality Des O’Connor and Strictly Come Dancing pair Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace have been added to the autumn programme of events at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre, bosses revealed today.

Other shows added today include a play starring funnyman Joe Pasquale and an appearance from popular illusionist Derren Brown. Bosses said the new and improved season was one of the most exciting and varied to date.

The new productions for 2012 include The Diary Of Anne Frank which runs from March 6-10. There is also a space on the bill for The King and I from March 27 to March 31.

Television presenter Pam Ayres brings her one woman show on April 2 and An Audience With Des O’Connor is on April 22.

One of the biggest names is world-renowned illusionist Brown who is at the theatre for a week. His Svengali show runs from April 30 to May 4.

West End musical Chicago is on from May 14-19 and Agatha Chritie classic Murder On The Nile is being performed from May 21-26.

One of Britain’s best loved funnymen, Joe Pasquale, stars in comedy Doctor In The House from June 11-16.

Finally there is a place on the bill for dancers Vincent and Flavia from TV’s Strictly Come Dancing. Their breath-taking live Midnight Tango show is on from June 19-23.

Grand Theatre chief executive Peter Cutchie said: “The Grand Theatre always strives to offer something for everyone and to suit all tastes, this season is no exception.”

Previously announced love story On Golden Pond which runs from January 31 to February 4 has confirmed the star casting of Hart To Hart American actress Stefanie Powers alongside The Haunting and Boy In The Striped Pyjamas actor Richard Johnson.

Tickets for all the shows do not go on sale until next Friday.
