Argentinian footballing legend Diego Maradona is a man to whom controversy is no stranger.
Infamous for punching the ball into the net against England in 1986 and being sent home from the 1994 World Cup for failing a drugs test as well as numerous other incidents – including shooting journalists with an air rifle – the two are practically synonymous.
And Maradona has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons once again – this time for doing a ‘Cantona’ to a Middle-Eastern fan.
Now managing Dubia outfit Al Wasl, Maradona lost his temper with a supporter who kept lifting up a banner in the hope of a glimpse of his hero – and promptly booted him in the hand.
Maradona quickly apologised to the fan, blaming his ‘emotional nature.’
No doubt this won’t be the last we see from Diego in Dubai. . .
