Mark Titchner exhibition at Walsall New Art Gallery
Tuesday 26th July 2011, 3:42PM BST.
Work by a former Turner Prize nominee is on show at Walsall’s New Art Gallery.
The Be True to Your Oblivion exhibition will feature newly commissioned pieces by Mark Titchner.
It is being presented as part of the Home of Metal festival, which celebrates the Black Country and Birmingham as the true home of heavy metal music and culture.
Titchner works in a variety of media and draws inspiration from song lyrics, and advertisements.
He will also create two banners, one of which will be shown in the gallery’s window box which can be seen for 24 hours per day from outside the building.
The psychedelic image declares I’ll Choose My Fate – a lyric from the Judas Priest song You Don’t Have to Be Old to Be Wise. The gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
