Friday 15th July 2011, 11:29AM BST.
The Staffordshire Hoard on Tour exhibition in Stafford has welcomed its 10,000th visitor.
The exhibition of Anglo-Saxon treasure has been on show in the Shire Hall Gallery since July 2.
Many of the gold and silver objects have never been on public display before and the response from the public has been phenomenal. Entry to the show is free.
Almost 1,000 people per day have flocked to see the exhibition since its opening day and the 10,000-visitor mark was reached on Wednesday with the visit of Kate Robson, from Gnosall.
To commemorate this landmark, Kate was presented with memorabilia from the show which runs until July 24.
Staffordshire county councillor Pat Corfield said: “It’s fantastic that we have already reached the 10,000-visitor mark.”
