Sandie Shaw to join Jools Holland at Birmingham NIA

Pop icon Sandie Shaw has teamed up with Jools Holland and will join him on his winter tour, which is comes to Birmingham's NIA in December.

The Puppet on a String singer, who was the first UK act to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 1967, will be joining Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for the trademark party on December 17.

Also joining the guest vocalist line-up is Pogues founder Shane MacGowan, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.

Shaw, one of the most successful female artists of the 60s, recently joined Holland for his Spring/Summer tour and following rave reviews, the two have confirmed that their on-stage partnership will remain for the December tour.

Holland said: "We've had such good fun on the summer tour and I asked her to join us for the winter and Sandie delightfully said yes. So along with Shane MacGowan we now have Sandie Shaw, Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall, Rosie Mae and Rico Rodriguez on vocal duties. A right knees up to keep the party going until the end of the year."

The pianist will perform tracks spanning his entire solo career, many of which can be found on his latest album release 'Finding The Keys: The Best Of Jools Holland' which was released last month.
