Free jazz at Birmingham Symphony Hall
Friday 24th June 2011, 12:49PM BST.
Looking for something to do tonight that won’t break the bank and might even help you avoid that awful Friday rush-hour madness? Well how about a free evening of music at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall?
Every Friday, the Symphony Hall’s bar area plays host to a live Rush Hour Blues set from 5.30pm.
Each week a live jazz band performs in the foyer area free of charge while music lovers can take the opportunity to enjoy a drink with friends or simply pass a pleasant few hours away while the rest of the world rushes around trying to get in or out of the city centre for the weekend.
Tonight’s act is Congolese band Son De La Vie who are bringing their unique sound to Rush Hour Blues to mark Refugee Week 2011.
The shows are presented in association with Birmingham Jazz and start at 5.30pm.
