Original members of hit 1980s group Dexys Midnight Runners reunited on their old Birmingham stomping ground for a 30th anniversary celebration of classic album Searching for the Young Soul Rebels.

Five members of the original 10-man line-up behind the record, released in July 1980, gathered for the event at The Flapper and Firkin near the National Indoor Arena - some meeting for the first time in more than 15 years.

And two members of the brass section, Geoff Blythe and "Big" Jim Paterson even performed songs from the album with Midlands band Stone Foundation including, I Couldn't Help It If I Tried and Tell Me When My Light Turns Green.

The band members were brought together by fan Ian Jennings, from Yorkshire.

Frontman Kevin Rowland was missing but fans did not seem to mind and packed in to the venue to hear those members who did turn up speak, illustrated by photos from their heyday.
