Murder and mayhem in Grand Theatre’s new season

A host of television stars will take to the stage at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre as the curtain rises on its annual summer play season.
An entertaining mix of murder mysteries and comedies is lined up between July 6 and 31.
Matt Healy, who set hearts racing as Matthew King in Emmerdale, will appear alongside fellow Emmerdale star Christopher Villiers, and Michelle Morris from The Knock, in season opener Inside Job from July 6-10.
Former London’s Burning favourite Richard Walsh, aka Sicknote, will then lead a cast under suspicion of murder in The Late Edwina Black from July 13-17.
In It’s Never Too Late, running from July 20-24, actress Joanna Van Gyseghem, best known for her role as Linda Cochran in Duty Free, will star alongside Hi-De-Hi legend Jeffrey Holland.
The season will draw to a close with comedy-thriller Murdered to Death, led by Norman Pace, star of of Hale and Pace. It runs from July 27-31 and other cast members include Welsh comic Victor Spinetti, Sandra Dickinson, Michelle Hardwick and Chloe Newsome, who played Steve McDonald’s wife Vicky in Coronation Street.
Grand Theatre spokeswoman Vicky Price said today: “After the success of the summer play season last year we are delighted to welcome Ian Dickens’ productions back for a second extended season with a total of four plays.
“It is extremely exciting to be welcoming Victor Spinetti to the Grand once more as well as Norman Pace making his debut on our stage.”
