Fans at Sex and the City 2 preview
Saturday 29th May 2010, 11:29AM BST.
Sex and the City 2 is the most anticipated film of the year – and women from across the region enjoyed a girlie night out to celebrate its opening.
Around 200 turned up for a special charity showing of the new film at Merry Hill’s Odeon. It, like every other showing of the film last night, was a sell-out.
Cinemas say people started booking for the sequel a month ago and many have put in extra screenings to meet demand.
And those at the Merry Hill screening, which raised hundreds of pounds for Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge, say the film has been worth the wait.
Carly Baker, aged 33, a project manager of Waterside Grange, Kidderminster, watched the movie with friends Debbie Pearson, 33 and Jennifer Cartwright, 33, and all three hailed it a fantastic chick flick.
“I think Carri’s brilliant – I love her fashion sense and her zest for life,” said Carly.
“This film was fantastic from start to finish. It was hilarious in places. We were crying with laughter at times.”
