Newfield Park Primary School on Whittingham Road, Halesowen, has submitted the plans to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

As well as the two classrooms, the new temporary unit will also provide toilet facilities and storage.

In addition, there will be a new intercom, gate and CCTV installed as part of the plans, with a concrete pathway, timber steps and landing leading up to the new building.

The school caters for about 400 pupils aged between four and 11 years old, according to its last Ofsted report.

Since receiving a requires improvement grade in 2014, Netherfield Park Primary has been praised by Ofsted in a subsequent monitoring inspection report.

The scheme will be discussed by borough council planners.
