University of Wolverhampton looks to Vietnam in new campus launch
The University of Wolverhampton has announced it will expand its international presence to Vietnam, just months after opening a campus in Mauritius.
The new campus was built in a bid to create an African education hub, but it has been announced that they have appointed a regional representative to promote the university in South East Asia.
The university will also help deliver a masters in business in the country as part of the partnership.
It is an area bosses at the university have been targeting to increase applications from prospective students.
A delegation from the university will attend a celebration event in Vietnam on Friday to mark the start of operations and to agree a new academic partnership in the region.
Jo Gittens, Director, International, said: "South East Asia is an area that we have been pro-actively targeting and we have seen an increase in applications of 25 per cent from the region.
"The new regional presence in Vietnam enables us to capitalise on this and to provide advice and support to students wishing to study at the University of Wolverhampton.
"In addition, we are signing a Memorandum of Understanding to seal a new academic partnership with ERC Institute Vietnam.
"This is an exciting time for the University's global operations, and enables us to further grow our international presence."
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed with training centre ERC Institute Vietnam to deliver a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the country.
The event will be attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Geoff Layer and Douglas Barnes, the British Consul General of Ho Chi Minh City. Representatives from the education and business sector will also be present.
They are validated by the University of Wolverhampton and accredited by The Mauritius Tertiary Education Council.
The University of Wolverhampton has regional bases in Singapore, China, Malaysia, India, Oman, Nigeria and Cyprus.
Courses are delivered with global partners in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Russia, France and Cyprus.
