Kingswinford School cricket pair win awards

Rowanne Adams and Adam Passmore, two cricket -mad youngsters from The Kingswinford School, were presented with special prizes by David Moorcroft at the Awards for Sporting Excellence Ceremony organised by Dudley Sports Association.
Rowanne Adams plays cricket for Worcester under 17s and Penn Women’s cricket club. Rowanne started her cricketing career at Straits Primary school and in Y8 was talent spotted at a cricket trial.
Rowanne said “I just love cricket! It is what keeps me going. I eat, drink and sleep cricket. The English Women team are the best in the world. They won the league. We won against Wales twice.”
Rowanne, captain of the under 15s is managed by her father.
Adam Passmore said: “It’s a sport I have always enjoyed. It keeps me competitive. It’s definitely an important part of my life. I love being healthy and fit”.
Adam was inspired at a very young age and was greatly influenced by his cricket fan father. At the age of eight, Adam joined Himley Cricket Club. At 10 Adam was elected for Worcestershire County Cricket – a rare accolade and he has been batting and keeping for them for the past four years.
