Bournville College donates equipment after Longbridge move

Charities and local organisations have received furniture and equipment donations from Bournville College, following its move to a brand new £66 million campus in Longbridge.

Charities, community organisations and education establishments have all had the benefit of the College’s resources, including furniture, IT and specialist equipment.

The largest donation, including art supplies, kitchen and IT equipment was made to the Fairbridge programme, which works with disadvantaged young people to give them the self-confidence to improve their lives.

Claire Farrell, Partnership Development Manager for the Fairbridge programme said: “The generosity and support from Bournville College has been overwhelming – the fabulous furniture and equipment has completely transformed the look of our centre.

Other charities benefiting from Bournville College’s furniture donations have included ACFAS, Social & Education Centre, Bosnia UK Network, ADRASS Relief Agency, Community Resource Information Centre, Heathbrook Community, Rathbone Society, Centrepoint Christian Church, Ethiopian World Federation and Anawim Women’s Project.

The College moved to its new state-of-the-art premises in Longbridge at the end of August and faced record student enrolment in September.

The old site has been sold to Bournville Village Trust and will be developed in the new year into a retirement village.
